Fan stick & fan guard
Bone fan sticks made of llllongitudinal slices of bone finely carved and well polished. There are nine fan sticks and one guard surviving; all broken and damaged. None of the ribs remain. Only six sticks extend above the pivot to the decorated gorge. The base of the sticks and guard contain a rivet which allows for the articulation of the whole fan. Only one stop (rivet unusually fairly close to end of guard) has survived.
